Living in Maui

Maui, Hawaii’s second largest island, is divided into 6 distinct regions: West Maui, South Maui, Central Maui, Upcountry Maui, North Maui and East Maui.

West Maui

Once a retreat for Hawaiian royalty, sunny West Maui is now home to marvelous resorts, restaurants, shopping, and abundance of activities. For these reasons, it has become one of Maui’s favorite areas with visitors. West Maui neighborhoods and districts include Kaanapali, Kapalua, Lahaina, Honokowai, Napili.

South Maui

South Maui is the sunniest and driest area of Maui. It is enriched with miles of sandy beaches and clear view of the islands of Lanai, Molokini and Kahoolawe. It is home to upscale Wailea with its white sand beaches and multi-million dollar resorts. South Maui neighborhoods and districts include Kihei, Makena, Wailea.

Central Maui

Central Maui is home to much of Maui’s local community. There are plenty of unique variety of shops, malls and restaurants to explore. There is also a thriving arts community, galleries and performance venues like the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Central Maui neighborhoods and districts include Kahului, Maalaea, Waiehu, Waihee, Waikapu, Wailuku.

Upcountry Maui
Set on the high elevations around Haleakala, with soaring views, the bountiful slopes of Upcountry Maui are home to ranches, botanical gardens, green pastures, and farms. Upcountry Maui neighborhoods and districts include Haliimaile, Kula, Makawao, Pukalani.

 North Maui

North Maui boasts stunning waterfalls, pristine beaches and great jungle trails which makes it ideal for those who enjoys hiking. North Maui neighborhoods and districts include Haiku, Paia, Spreckelsville.

 East Maui

Hana represents East Maui. Its coast is famous for the winding road Hana. Starting in the town of Kahului, the Hana Highway is a 52-mile stretch of waterfalls, rainforests, and jaw-dropping landscapes. Hana itself is a small town, but big on Hawaiian traditions and aloha way of life.
